The Legend of Korra

I made this picture purely because I became a fan of 'The Legend of Korra' series straight off the bat.  The animation is crisp and the stories are well told with a great mix of characters with different personalities.  Give it a watch if you havent already.

Spiderman Green Goblin battle over NYC

So I was making this Spiderman picture today and  I thought I would post some of the intermittent steps in the making process.  Obviously there is no color yet but I will get to that soon.

I rarely if ever draw city scapes and now I know why.  They are a pain in the ass even with out most of the window detail in them.

DC Nemesis series

These various DC characters are all A3 poster prints I made recently that I call the 'DC Nemesis' series.  It all started with drawing Batman for a weekly art challenge and grew from there.  Funny thing is I rarely read any DC stuff till the new 52 shyte happened.  Now I read a few but I miss what I did see of the old DC.  Superman just doesnt seem to have the gravitas he once had.  Oh well. 

Anyway, I'm pretty happy with the way these turned out since i had never actually drawn any of these characters before.   Full body drawings may present more of a challenge so maybe next time.

Spawn version 2

So this is my updated version of the sSpawn picture I made last week.  I had forgotten all about the magic and glowy green stuff that he used to use in his power set so I edited the gun to be made of the green magic energy that he uses. 

I like this version better.  Some people might not but everyones opinion counts.

Spawn process

This is most of the process I used to create this Spawn image ofr OZComics weeekly art community.  This image I am particularly happy with since I had some extra time to spend on it.

So this image was done for the OZComics weekly topic on Facebook.  I hadn't done one for a few weeks because too busy with assignments but now thats out of the way I can get some fun stuff done.

The Addams Family

Another OzComics challenge slightly updated from the original version.  I changed the background from light grey to black.  Small change but much better.

Costume shop

So this is a sample page and possibly cover for a mock up picture storybook idea I have.  At the moment this is for a uni assignment but if it gets a good enough reception I might try and make the whole book and shop it around.

Another entry for the weekly OzComics challenge on Facebook. Obviously this week the challenge was 'Shazam'. Again the first time I've drawn this character.

TMNT colored

This is my attempt at coloring a professional comic artists' lines.  I think I did a decent job on this one.

Warwolf

This is a Rob Liefeld character called Warwolf that I have done for the http://robliefeld.proboards.com/index.cgi

drawing throwdowns that happen on occasion.

Just to show a bit of process.  I did the rough lines in pencil.  Scanned in the rough image and inked digitally using my ancient wacom tablet which i am thankfully gtting used to.  Each piece was inked separately - body, head, hair and fluffy parts.  Lastly I made the rockface with the character name carved into it using a font called 'tramyad'.  Again colored on multiple layers separating the character color from the background parts.  Pissy background I know but I might do a more elaborate one later but for now this is it.

Onward to victory

I know this doesn't look like 11 years work but I did actually start this 11 years ago. Drew the lines in 2001, inked it in 2002. Got abandoned for 8 or 9 years then found on an old disc. Digitally re-inked about a year ago with a couple of character additions and flats added. Finished colors done over the last few hours.

Glad its over.

So I drew this a few months back and colored it a bit later.  Just pulled up the file and added some textures to finish it off.  At least as off as it's gonna get.
